Nerine 'Evelyn Emmet'
18th September 2011
Bright pink with a darker central stripe.
Generally it is being spelt with 'Evelyn Emmett' with a double 't', but Tony Norris lists it in his 1979
catalogue with a single 't' and I have stuck with that spelling on the assumption that it
was named for Baroness Evelyn Emmet of Amberley, deputy speaker of the House of Lords (1968 - 1977).
In the Nerine Nurseries catalogue fore 1985, Tony Norris says:
A lovely rounded head with 12 to 14 florets. The segments are long and narrow, strongly recurved and crisped. The scarlet central rib contrasts with near white stripes and pink edging.
