Raised by Sir Frederick Stern at Highdown in Sussex from a cross between 'Grilse' and 'Bonneral'.
In a newsletter for 1980, Tony Norris says:
"The very good head of 10 to 12 orange-red florets measures over six inches across. The individual florets of long recurved segments measure one and a half inches across and the very long filaments are outstanding."
