Raised at Exbury from a cross between 'Alice' and 'Lady Foster'. Given an Award of Merit by the RHS in 1949 followed by a First Class Certificate.
Tony Norris said in a Nerine Nursery Newsletter in 1978 said:
"With a nine inch diameter flower consisting of 14 individual florets each about 3 inches across, it really is supreme. The strong stem is usually about 20 inches tall.
The segments are almost without crisping, except for the tip and are very wide and silvery white in colour. The throat is tinged carmine forming a very short central rib ."
Ken Hall wrote in a Springbank Nursery catalogue for 2005:
"This outstanding pale pink hybrid raised at Exbury gained an award of Merit in 1949.This hybrid is a triploid not a tetraploid as reported in 1951.
As triploids are almost sterile, using them in a breeding program is a difficult challenge. However, some outstanding hybrids have been obtained using Inchmerey Kate as the pollen parent."
