Nerine 'Jill'

3rd October 2020

There are two cultivars that have been named 'Jill'. Tony Norris had one that was pale orange-red, but this is the pink cultivar, raised by Clarke at Borde Hill (and the spelling might properly be 'Gill').
The parents were 'Hon Mrs Rankin' and 'Miss Elliott'. The Nerine Nurseries catalogue for 1976 says:
A very stong pale azalea pink suffused with salmon and with a deeper salmon central rib. An outstanding flower with a large open head, excellent for flower arrangements. The stem is 12 to 14 inches and this is one of the prettiest Nerine".
