Raised by H. J. Elwes decades before the psychedelic sixties when the combination of lilac and pink was briefly
fashionable.
In the Nerine Nursery catalogue for 1974, Tony Norris says:
" A deep cherry-red with a blue tinge. The blue colour becomes stronger after the first two or three days. The petals are considerably wrinkled and recurved ."
