Raised by Sir Ralph and Lady Clarke at Borde Hill and given an Award of Merit when shown to the RHS in 1949. The report in the Journal of the RHS in 1950 says:
"The umbel exhibited carried eleven open Rhodamine Pink (HCC 527) flowers measuring 2.5 to 2.75 inches across and having a deeper rib of colour down the middle of each perianth segment."
