Nerine pudica hybrid

Archive entry 08.10.17

10th November 2013

A very distinctive plant I was given last year. It is very close to Nerine pudica but the tips of the tepals are slightly twisted and recurved. I could guess at the other parent involved but I have self-pollinated it instead and see if the seedlings offer any more hints.
Impressive this year beacause it started early in the season and kept going for several weeks.
It is possible that this is part of the natural variability of the species, in which case it is a rare plant that occurs in a small area to the east of Cape Town.
