Nerine 'Solent Swan'
23rd November 2013
A superb white cultivar raised by Lionel de Rothschild at Exbury. The immature anthers are
pale salmon, ripening to release cream-white pollen.
In 1974, Tony Norris wrote:
"A large glistening white with pink stamens. A superlative flower by any standard and quite outstanding for beauty, vigour, free-flowering and general excellence.
It is not a large nerine with a stem under fourteen inches. The flowers have a wealth of minute pearl like cells giving a glitter, a sheen, which, in a strong light, is most lovely."
