Nerine 'Terry Jones Seedling'

10th November 2012

A vigorous pink plant. I was a little concerned when I got it that it was another pink Nerine that would fade quietly into the background and be allowed to go. It has done exactly the reverse.
Among the horde of pink Nerine flowering in the middle of the season, this one stood out for its vigour and the size of the flower.
Terry Jones was breeding hybrids between N.bowdenii and N.sarniensis hoping to breed hardy hybrids with a wider range of colours. This is one of two seedlings that went to James Smart at Marwood Hill. The other is said to be the better plant and has been named 'Marwood Ruby' but this is the one that is prospering and being distributed.
