Paeonia 'Scarlet Heaven'

A pure scarlet intersectional (Itoh) hybrid peony raised by R. F. Anderson registered in 1999. A seedling from P. lactiflora 'Martha W.' pollinated
by 'Thunderbolt' (a P.ludlowii hybrid raised by Prof. Arthur P. Saunders in New York State).
It has been vigorous here and the colour is superb but the early flowers haven't always opened fully.
