Parochaetus communis occurs in East Africa and the Himalaya. The East African forms are slightly tender with distinct brown marks
on the leaves and are a bit tender. The forms from the Himalaya are a bit tougher, tend to be deciduous and produce small tubers underground.
I think this is the East African form, which has recently been renamed Parochaetus africanus, but it is an unfamiliar name to use, and I am
going to confirm the identity before I make the change!
Regardless of the details of identity, it is a fantastic blue flowered plant that spreads vigorously by runners. It has come through a seriously cold winter which is very satisfying.
