Parodia scopa
Archive entry 02.08.15
1st August 2015
A native of the grasslands of southern brazil (Rio Grande do Sul), Uraguay, Paraguay and Argentina.
It has grown well for me in the greenhouse, tolerating occasional frosts and not burning in the sun. It has grown rapidly and flowered easily.
I had a number of plants with slightly different flower colours and showing slight variation in the colour of their spikes, but in 2022
I got fed up with being spiked by cacti in the close conditions of the small greenhouse, and I gave them away.
A lot of cacti were rehomed last year, and this is one I will miss, but not enough replace!
