Peucedanum ostruthium 'Daphnis'
20th May 2012
A French selection of Peucedanum - one of those variegated plants I had to try as soon as I saw it. I particularly enjoy its similarity to the
'enthusiastic' variegated form of Aegopodium. Unfortunately I had underestimated the affection rabbits have for the
less toxic members of the Apiaceae and by the time I had gathered my wits there was nothing but a hole in the pot where the plant once grew.
I'll have another try, I'll be a bit more careful, I might end up with a mound of crisp variegated foliage and a shimmer of white flowers
and not feel as though I have been buying expensive carrots for rabbits.
Native to the mountains of south and central Europe and is now naturalised in parts of the UK.
