Philadelphus 'Silver Showers'

A German bred cultivar ('Silberregen') close to the Lemoinei group but much more recent. Very floriferous and rather twiggy. It
produces long arching stems festooned with blooms that could be taken for showers if it could be persuaded to hoist itself
a little further above the ground. It grows under a weeping Parrotia that was made even more miserable
when a felled tree landed on it and snapped it off at three feet. The Philadelphus is still the shorter plant.
