A recent cultivar of Philodendron scandens with a strong gold splash down the centre of the leaf. The old 'Variegatum' is a lovely little plant with an erratic white margin
like the remnants of a burst balloon, but this is much better!
Discovered by Ruben Ernesto Acosta as a cultivated plant in Holambra, Brasil. The plants originally distributed had a narrow flash of yellow through the centre of the leaf.
Plants in cultivation now seem to be brighter, probably by selection of the best forms for propagation.
It has grown well, and the colour has intensified. I have been surprised by the plants vigour, given the amount of yellow in the leaf.
