A hybrid Phygelius raised by Robin White by crossing his own introduction, deep pink P. aequalis 'Sani Pass' with P. coccineus
and then back crossing the hybrid to 'Sani Pass'. He managed to produce a deep pink hybrid with a fuller and less one sided head of flowers.
