x Philageria veitchii

The hybrid between Lapageria rosea and Philesia magellanica is a fabled thing. I have never seen it in reality, only read about it. I have tried remaking the hybrid a couple of times but without success.
I have just been sent a few seeds by Joe Harvey from Canada, who successfully remade the cross this year.

Trees and Shjrubs online says:

"A hybrid between Lapageria rosea and Philesia magellanica which was raised by Messrs Veitch at Chelsea, and flowered in their nursery there in 1872. The lapageria was the seed-bearer.
This interesting hybrid bears more resemblance to the lapageria in habit, in the stamens and in the colour of the flower, than it does to the philesia. It is hardy in Cornwall and similar places but is now very rare."
