A wonderful pure white form was discovered in County Clare, Ireland around 1990. In about the year 2000 J.J.Labat was given a plant with pure white flowers collected
near the town od Bareges in the French Pyrennees. Together, these white flowered forms have been named Pinguicula grandiflora f. chionopetra .
Plants in cultivation are derived from the Pyrenneen plant.
I flowered the plant, and kept it alive for a few years, but didn't find it easy to keep and eventually it died out. For several years I hoped that I would get a stray seedling
but it hasn't happened.
