Pleione Humble Peak

Archive entry 15.02.26

I bought a pot from Jacques Amand at the AGS show, Theydon Bois for £15. I split it up and it turns out there are two clones. When I got it, it was listed as Pleione (humilis x Glacier Peak) but it has since been registered as P. Humble Peak (Emberson, 1922). The origin of the hybrid is not recorded but it probably came from Anthura.

This is clone.1 (above). It is almost white with a slight blush of pink, and it generally flowers three or four days before clone.2.

This is clone.2 (above). It is darker pink than clone.1 and the flowers have a stronger substance and are less prone to slug damage.
