Polygonatum biflorum, from the eastern United States, grows from two to three feet tall. Unsurprisingly
, the flowers dangle in green tipped white pairs from the leaf axils in May. The description 'Giganteum'
applied to this form is pure hogwash. It has been recorded as growing up to six feet tall in habitat,
but this isn't the form to do it! Distinguished by its sessile leaves, produced adjacent to the stems, but not clasping it. |
