This lovely plants grows to about 8 inches tall, with large lilac flowers. It is very like P.hookeri,
but without that species tendency to flower in a congested little tuft at ground level. Wonderful little curls on the ends of the corolla lobes, like some extravagant wrought iron work or medieval illustration. The naming of the species in cultivation (and possibly beyond) is a little confused. If this is correct, then it comes from central Asia and China. |
