The commonest of the Solomons Seals in cultivation. It is sturdy, reliable and elegant.
It will amuse itself for years quietly clumping away in some shady oversight. It suffers from the attacks of Polygonatum Sawfly in most years and has generally been defoliated by late summer, however it bounces back the following year. (P.multiflorum x P.odoratum). It seems to tolerate quite deep shade, and I mean to spread it around the garden more widely but never quite get around to it. |
