A form in the Pulcherimum Group that I have just bought from Julian Sutton at Desirable Plants. Their catalogue entry says:
"The first of several good forms of our native, western, lime-loving species, which takes beautifully to garden life on all
manner of soils and tolerates summer dry very well. We cut off the old leaves in summer, new ones appearing from
August or September onwards. ‘Bychan’ is a small, densely clumping form with short, upright fronds, selected by the
Levers at Aberconwy Nursery. With a twinkle in his Lancastrian eye, Keith gave us his take on the meaning of the name,
which they’ve used for dwarfs of more than one species: ‘bychan is a Welsh word meaning anything from normal sized
down to very small...’
