A pretty, short, upright growing form. I got my plant from Nick Macer in 2012 and it has done well in the garden. One of a number of named 'Pulcherrimum' forms in cultivation. Martin Rickard writes: "'Pulcherrimum'means 'most beautiful' - an appropriate name for this group of rather similar cultivars. Fronds regularly bipinnatifid, the ends of the pinna segments mot sharply pointed. Segments are close together giving the frond a pleasant yet solid appearance. All moderately well-established plants produce sori, albeit sometimes sparingly." Discovered around 1860 in the Lake District. |
