A semi double form with the suggestion of a dark eye, received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. Named after the Japanese botanist Mikinori Ogisu.
It is a larger growing plant than 'Kojo no mai' and can eventually make a small tree to about 5m. Good autumn colour in most years, even here.
