A vigorous green-edged double cultivar that I got from an AGS show in Exeter. Barnhaven Primroses say: "A green-edged double auricula. Raised by Derek Salt in 1990 from a yellow seedling and 'Mary' cross. A fun addition to any collection." Philip Bankhead csays on the Peninsula Primulas website: "Sword slices the country in two! you either love it or hate it! I think it's great. Unusual, interesting, noteworthy it undoubtedly is but for shear uniqueness there is no comparison. Double red and green flowers in profusion. " Wrightman Alpines give a different pedigree for the plant: "Strange little creature, this is a double, green edge, with deep purple and white markings. A Derek Salt cross from 'Fleminghouse' x 'Prague' in 1990." |
