A hybrid Primula with large, rounded pink flowers. The depth of colour seems to depend on the light intensity of the season.
It has grown vigorously here a limestone chippings. I got my plant from Tale Valley Nursery and they say: "Delicate pale mauve-pink flowers graduating to creamy pale yellow in centre with neat toothed edge leaves. Best in a cool greenhouse with good ventilation where it can be protected from winter wet." Writing about the exhibits at the Blackpool AGS show, George Young says: "One of the very best of the permutations, which says a lot. 'Pink Aire' is a vigorous grower, raised by Peter Lister, and when well grown [...] literally smothered in bloom. These should be removed as soon as they wither, otherwise they act as a focus for botrytis, which can soon infect the entire plant. Propagate by division or else remove rooted offsets soon after flowering." |
