Primula vulgaris 'Red Ruffles'

One of a new generation of double primroses that have been micropropagated and distributed. I don't know who raised it, but they were having a clever day when they combined the double red flowers with the Jack-in-the-Green ruff.
I have enjoyed it, but I have grown it rather badly, the flowers are small, open and well spaced. Grown well it makes a solid lump of red petals wrapped in a green cup of leaves as though someone had sneezed their lungs into a green handkerchief. I'm not too upset by my failings.
