Primula vulgaris 'Sue Jervis'

A curious colour, introduced by Bressinghams in the early 1980s and said to have been found in the wild. It is quite vigorous, but from time to time it just dies unexpectedly. It is sturdy, floriferous, interesting, hardy and completely and utterly without joy. Even where it is long established it manages to look as though it has just been crammed lopsidedly into the ground at the last minute.

In their catalogue for 1982-83 Bressingham Gardens say:

"An outstanding new Primrose recently discovered in the wild as a chance seedling, it promises to be a very worthwhile plant. The soft shell pink flowers make an attractive show in spring and often peep out in autumn too. Prefers heavy soil."
