A selected form of the species with crested tips to the white-marked fronds. It has grown vigorously planted in the Hedychium house.
I bought it at a garden centre in 2014, where it was being sold as a hardy fern for the garden. The earliest reference I can find comes from John G. Baker in 1892 who writes: "P. Mayi, Hort. is a crested variegated form "(of P. cretica). |
