A small growing, creeping species from Southeast Asia. Plants of the World online list it as Bhutan to China (Yunnan) and Malesia.
I did not expect it to be hardy but it isn't impossible given the mention of Yunnan. It is quite widely grown in Terraria but I thought it was worth trying in the greenhouse. In reality it dies as soon as autumn set in though that may be because it was scarcely established when the cold weather arrived. It is also possible that plants from the colder parts of its range might be more hardy. In 2024 I bought another to try again. It is probably the same clone as my original plant but this one is better established. I may bring it indoors if it starts to look cold in autumn. |
