When I arrived in the garden I planted 10 oak trees (among hundreds of other things). Over the years
their number has been reduced to three (rabbits, deer, accidents) and unfortunately this one is
in the way. I have spent several years thinking that I can work round it but the reality is that
it will have to come out. Since about 2020 a number of seedlings have come up in the garden. I assume they have been brought in by Jays. They could have been planted by squirrels but I'm not aware of a fruiting oak within squirreling distance of the garden. At present I am leaving them where they have come up and I'll see if I can work around them. |
