An odd, fragile Japanese buttercup which dies back completely in August and needs to be kept just moist while dormant. This double form has bright shiny yellow pom-pom flowers (the photo doesn't show the bright metallic lustre). Distributed by Joe Sharman though I got it from Desirable Plants. Their catalogue says: "Rare, tricky Japanese treasure - low, narrow leaves with lots of little yellow double flowers in spring. Sun, moist, well drained. best in a pot. Beware slugs!" Ranunculus extorris has now been synonymised with R. ternatus var. ternatus. |
