I am trying a few of the new selections of creeping buttercup that are becoming available (thank you Alternative Plants who introduced this cultivar).
I am hoping that they can be allowed to romp innocuously around the place, but time will tell. So far they
have exploded in growth, so there is plenty of material to try.
Variegated leaves through the spring, fading in summer.
Writing in the Alternatives catalogue, Rosemary Castle says:
"A lovely form of creeping buttercup in the early part of the year: in late winter and spring the unfolding leaves develop a diffuse, pale golden edge which accentuates the lobed outline
of the leaf and perfectly compliments the inner pattern of pale spots. The leaves gradually turn greener in summer. Usual flowers and vigour."
