The Rebutias are all quite cold tolerant,as long as they are dry. Generally, I like prickly stuff, but I like it to have damn great spines that you could barbecue a
turkey on, and I am not so fond of the tiny prickly stuff pretending to be fluff and nonsense. Flowers reliably in spring in a cold greenhouse. The accepted name is now R. pulvinosa var. albiflora. The description in rebutia.org says: "The original description of Rebutia (Aylostera) albiflora was published in Taxon (1963) p. 29, the journal of the International Association for Plant Taxonomy, IAPT by Friedrich Ritter. Habitat: In a gorge of the Rio Playa, northeast of Tarija, Bolivia. Collected as FR766a." |
