A charming compact Rhododendron hybrid. People wax lyrical about the indumentum on the underside of Rhododendron leaves and I have always thought that if
they couldn't find anything better to say about a plant than that it had nice undersides, fair comment. However, 'Wine and Roses' really does have fantastic, wine coloured indumentum
under the leaves. I really would grow it for that alone. A strong growing plant with a good habit, in some ways the slightly washed-out pink flowers are its weakest point.
Raised by Ken Cox at Glendoick Gardens, a hybrid of R. williamsianum.
