Rhodohypoxis 'Dawn'

Pale pink flowers with very broad tepals. Susan Garnett-Botfield raised the seedling 'Ruth' from R. baurii var. platypetala and named it after her daughter, Mrs Ruth McConnel. Ruth McConel raised a seedling from 'Ruth' at her garden in Farnham and named it 'Dawn'.

Writing in 'The Plantsman', Brian Mathew says:

"'Dawn' (Award of Merit 1970). This was raised by Mrs McConnel. The large flowers open pale pink and then fade to nearly white leaving a flush of pink on the underside and on the margins of the segments. It was grown from seed taken from 'Ruth'."
