I was really pleased to find a small offshoot of this species for sale as Tupistra fimbriata
. This one ranges from India and Nepal to China. The Flora of China currently recognises it as Campylandra fimbriata
though Plants of the World online treats it as Rohdea delavayi. The illustration in the Flora of China of Campylandra fimbriata shows a plant with long bracts behind the individual flowers that stick out of the densely packed spike, though it seems broadly similar in other respects so the identification remains uncertain. Cotswold Garden Flowers say: "Evergreen strap-like leaves in tight clumps, 25cm. spikes if white flowers among the leaves. Yunnan. Used in Chinese medicine." |
