Rohdea japonica 'Miyako No Jo'

A tall growing rather upright Rohdea selected in Japan with bold white margins to the leaves. I got my plant from Plant Delights Nursery. Their catalogue says:

"Like an evergreen tropical-looking hosta, Rohdea japonica 'Miyako-no-Jo' is composed of glossy, dark green, smooth leaves that stand upward forming a vase-shaped 20" tall clump. Each leaf is surrounded by a striking border of white from the leaf tip down to the mid-way point. Adding to the beauty are the short stalks of bright red berries that occur near the base of the plant in late fall and through the winter. Rohdea japonica 'Miyako-no-Jo' is a great evergreen specimen plant in the woodland garden among ferns. Rohdea 'Miyako No Jo' translates to "rohdea of Kyoto Castle". "
