Roscoea purpurea 'Purple Emperor'

One of Keith Wiley's own seedlings from Wildside. Named and released in 2017. His description says:

"Dark red flowers opening from purple buds for many weeks in late summer. Green leaves on dark red stems. Best in partial shade."

Keith Wiley said that he had selected those plants that had the broadest labellum for naming. 'Purple Emperor' is a selected clone from the Emperor Group which generally have red flowers, red stems and green leaves.
