A quite unique form - this one has a pure white base colour, unlike the creamy yellow colour of the other forms. The purple mottled labellum varies from year to year and flower to flower. Writing in 'The Plantsman', Christopher Whitehouse and Jill Cowley say: "Base colour of the flowers white, slightly tinged yellow (2C) in throat and flushed reddish on back of tube, with irregular purple streaks and mottling. Found as a sport with a pure white base colour on typical R. x beesiana by Rene Zijerveld in the early 1990s, but not registered until 1999. It is named after his wife." |
