Rubus fruticosus 'Reps'

Archive entry 30.06.24

Rubus fruticosus 'Reps' is a spectacular, vigorous, gold splashed bramble discovered by Bob Brown of Cotswold Garden Flowers and given the collection number RCB AL-A-1.

In the Cotswold Garden Flowers catalogue he says:

"Yellow variegated blackberry collected Reps near the junction A1 and SH30 between Rreshen and Puke, Albania."

In the garden it has grown strongly in the shade and has endeared itself to me by hosting the only stick insect (Acanthoxyla inermis) I have ever found in the garden.
