Saxifraga fortunei 'Autumn Tribute'

A small growing cultivar that I bought from Aberconwy Nursery at the AGS summer show, Wimborne. Their label says:

"This new cross between the large pink forms and the dwarf Mt. Nacchi has small neat dark foliage and good mid pink flowers from Oct-Nov. 10-15cm in flower. For humus rich soil in gentle shade."

Farmyard Nurseries say in their online catalogue:

"A really attractive dwarf plant, with attractive fleshy leaves forming dark rosettes and bear sprays of mid pink flowers in late autumn. Prefers a semi shaded site. Well worth growing. Totally hardy in the average year. Height and spread 15cm (6 inch). Excellent for the woodland garden." Raised and distributed by Aberconwy Nursery, it has persisted well in a pot here over many years without succumbing to vine weevil.

Nursery De Hessenhof in the Netherlands say (in translation):

"This is our lowest form in this group of Saxifragas and can be recognised immediately by the deeply serrated leaves with brush-like hairs on both sides. Blooms with pale pink to white umbels on red stems. In 2004 named by the famous Aberconwy Nursery in N. Wales."
