Saxifraga x paradoxa

A silver rosetted hybrid that I bought from Rosemoor. The label says:

"Natural hybrid forming encrusted rosettes. Arching sprays of white flowers in summer."

Writing about 'Encrusted saxifrages' in the bulletin of the AGS in1947, R. C. C. Clay says:

"S. X PARADOXA. Hostii X incrustata - larger form of x Engleri.
Rosettes: With more upstanding leaves. Leaves: Dull iron-grey, very long, narrow, leathery, conspicuously beaded, with truncated teeth. Flowers: Small cream coloured flowers in sprays of the Aizoon type on short, dark brown stems.

(There is also a Saxifraga paradoxa, a sub-shrub described by Count Kaspar Maria von Sternberg in 1810, that should not be confused with this silver herbaceous hybrid.)
