A fairly new cultivar that is just starting to appear on the market. When I got it, it was rumoured to have originated in Spain but I haven't been able to confirm that since. San Marcos Growers say: "An upright vase shaped plant to 18 inches tall with rosettes of broad dark green, sword-shaped leaves that are slightly recurving and have wide golden yellow vertical stripes and new leaves that often emerge totally yellow. In the Asiatica catalogue for 2005, Barry Yinger says: "Also sold as 'Flame'. This is the most colorful S. trifasciata I have run across. It is fairly new, said to have been developed in Spain. The leaves are dark green flamed brilliant yellow, Medium sized grower, keep warm and dry." |
