Sarracenia alata A-21-DB
9th July 2006
Jackson, Florida.
Florida is well outside the natural distribution of Sarracenia alata, but plants are recorded from some locations, presuambly having been moved there by people.
Large numbers of plants of various sorts are 'saved' when bogs are sold for development, and replanted in new locations, and enthusiasts like to add new plants to their local
environments. This plant is probably one such.
There are several naturalised populations of Sarracenia in Europe, so it is not unreasonable to find the same thing happens in the USA.
