Sempervivum 'Aldo Moro'

A vigorous cultivar with well marked reddish-brown rosettes. Raised in 1977 by Gustaaf van der Steen in Belgium. The reported parentage is S. tectorum atropurpureum x S. tectorum nigrum.

Craigiehall Nursery say:

"The gorgeous dark leaf tips in spring is the 'stand-out' feature of this one and it's a popular plant. The leaf tips in spring are dark purple-red, almost black at times, over an olive-green centre.
Aldo Moro was an Italian Prime Minister who was kidnapped then murdered in the 1970's. It's a fascinating story to look up if you enjoy crime and political intrigue."
