A very appealing name for an appealing plant, it colours relibly in the sunshine for me. It hs become one of the standard commercial varieties
since it was raised by Sandy MacPherson in the USA. Registered in 1962. On Sempervivum List, Horst Diehm says: "small brownish - olive-green rosette with pointed foliage and reddish-purple tips, base more reddish tinted." Sempervivums by Post say: "'Blood Tip' is super-tough, always looks great, and forms a fantastic clump (partly because it rarely flowers). We've grown this type for over 30 years and it's never failed. |
