Large, chunky rosettes, but I found the cultivar unexceptional. Raised by Martin Harberer in Germany and released in 1979. In 2001 Horst Diehm wrote: "Rosettes 7 cm, green inside, dense, reddish to red (ochre) towards the tips." Craigiehall Nursery say: "Rosettes with green centres, the leaves shading to ochre/orange/yellow towards the tips. The tips themselves are red. Makes an effective contrast in a group. A medium sized variety that grows well and is very popular." The AGS Encyclopedia online says: "Shapely bronze-green rosettes of good substance and medium-size." Quoted on Sempervivum List, Erwin Geiger says: "A better known German variety with an interesting olive-green colouring washed with orange to apricot." |
