Sempervivum calcareum 'Sir William Lawrence'

An intensely coloured selection of the species that I got from Simon Bond. I would say that the leaves have a cleaner blue-grey colour than 'Mrs Giuseppi' and the red-brown markings on the tips are better defined. Other than that the two cultivars are very simlar and both very vigorous. Sempervivum List says that it is a seedling from 'Mrs Giuseppi'.

Sempervivums by Post say:

"'Sir William Lawrence' is of S. calcareum origin. Given a prestigious Award of Garden Merit by the RHS following the 2005-2008 trials. Neat, reliable, and worthy."
